Zuper! is Michaël Samyn. Samyn was trained a graphic designer for traditional media but has devoted his work exclusively to new media since 1995. He is a member of Group Z, Belgium, an 'ex-artists' collective who have followed him into the digital reality. And a founding member of Hell, the 'private parallellel web' project of Kenneth Aronson. Early 1999 he started entropy8zuper, a high-tech high-emotion web production organisation, with Entropy8|Auriea Harvey.
Zuper! designed web sites and other interactive environments for Microsoft, Quattro*DMB&B, Netherlands Design Institute, Ogilvy & Mather, the Brussels Government to name but some of the better known ones. But it was also involved in the production of several non-commercial on line experiments: 4 Group Z, Belgium works (home, virgin|sucker, LOVE, I confess), The Web Singer, birth cards for his children Martha and Marcel, ISDM, FFF (with Snarg|Jef Morlan), Horny, Heaven & Hell (with Teleportacia|Olia Lialina), The Blossoming (for 4D Duchamp), Beanzine (with Jef Morlan and Toru Ueno), surface (for hell) and skinonskinonskin (with Entropy8|Auriea Harvey for hell), etcetera.
Michaël Samyn won Ars Electronica/Alexei Shulgin's Form Art competition, was elected first human Mr. Net Art and his design for the CampaignLive website recently won a Cyber Lion at the Cannes International Advertising Festival. His design for of the website for the amsterdam conference on design and technology, Doors of Perception, received The People's Choice Webby 1999 Award and his own zuper.com site was awarded silver in I.D. interactive media design review in 1999.
